The objective of this study was to test & compare the efficacy of theory-based, indicated preventive interventions for reducing suicide potential among high risk youth in 5 American high schools. 105 subjects participated in a 3-group, repeated measures study comparing 2 programs. Data was collected pre-intervention & in 2 follow-ups. All 3 groups showed decreased suicide risk behaviours & increased network social support & self-esteem thus supporting the underlying theoretical model.
