In 1995 following the presentation of a suicide prevention program to 1200 psychiatrists, a collaboration was initiated with the Lundbeck Foundation to do a worldwide survey through the IASP network. A draft of guidelines for an educational program for physicians was sent out for comments. Each national IASP representative was also asked for statistics for their country. 27 answers had been received at the time of this presentation. Results obtained from the survey were discussed.
