This presentation reported on the first two years of a longitudinal study of suicidal behaviours in young people in South Australia. Some 1800 students in 17 high schools answered a composite questionnaire on demographic factors, family issues, recent life experience, current psychological functioning, & suicidal behaviour. The complexities of the program, preliminary statistics, risk indicators from the first year as related to suicidal behaviour in the second, & data collection were discussed.
