Australian coroners from 8 states & territories are working with federal & state agencies to establish a National Coronial Information System. This system is intended to help coroners in the investigation/identification of problem areas & in making recommendations. Johnstone says that once the system is in place it will provide timely data on the causative factors & means used in suicide & self-harm.
