This presentation discussed attitudes toward suicide held by Chinese medical students. 231 subjects completed a self-report questionnaire. Medical students were not accepting of suicide for reasons such as failure in school or personal problems but had different attitudes toward suicide committed by individuals who had an incurable disease. Results from this study were going to be used to teach students about suicide prevention in the framework of their whole medical education.
