This presentation described & discussed an evaluation of the treatment chain for suicide attempters by the National Suicide Research Unit in Norway. The treatment chain consists of hospital evaluation & care, community-based “ombud-teams”, & collaboration between the hospital & the local team. The evaluation indicated promise for the ombud model but also demonstrated a need for a more systematic evaluation of the effect of this intervention & information about its adaptation to local conditions.
