Suicide Prevention in Secondary Schools: an Educational and Concerted Action Program in Belgian Schools

This presentation discussed a prevention project to train Belgian teachers to identify adolescents at risk of suicide, & to educate them about community mental health resources & referral techniques. The program aimed to implement a concerted action which would include teachers, schools & other mental health care providers in a well-defined pilot region. The program would be extended to other areas if an evaluation ifinds indications of its efficacy.
