Young People and Psychiatric Illness – Intervention and Assessment (YPPI-IA)

The authors discussed a project to develop, pilot & evaluate an acute, home-based assessment service to promote better access & improved interventions for young people experiencing significant mental health issues & suicide risk. This project will extend an earlier model to one which is complete with protocols & measurable indicators, & which is transferable to other health areas. Attention was given to addressing the impact of drug & alcohol comorbidity on suicide in the target population.
