Suicide Survivor Programs in IASP Member Countries: a Survey (IN: Suicide Prevention: The Global Context. Proceedings of the 19th Congress of the IASP, March 1997, ed. by R J Kosky et al)

In order to gain a more comprehensive picture of the extent & kind of bereavement services being offered, a survey was undertaken of all 52 countries listed as members of the IASP. Responses were received from 31 countries. 14 countries had programs for survivors, 17 did not. Some reasons why bereavement groups are not available are discussed. The operations of bereavement groups are then examined, with a separate discussion of these groups in the USA.
