The purpose of this booklet is to raise awareness and promote discussion about suicide among health care providers. Information on the incidence of suicide & suicidal behaviours in Alberta is presented as are some facts about suicide & clues which may indicate a person is at risk. Obstacles which may prevent the recognition of a person at risk are described.The final sections of the booklet discuss the management of the suicidal person & intervention strategies. A short bibliography is included.
