The aim of this study was to assess through an epidemiological study whether suicide risk is increased in patients with with motor neuron disease. 116 patients were included in the study. 92 patients died during the study period (1973-1991) – none of the deaths were by suicide. The difference between observed & expected suicides was not statistically significant for males & females. (36 refs.)
