Children & teenagers can experience depression just as adults do. However, the symptoms differ from the adult presentation of depression tending to be more “depressive equivalents.” Essential features of a Major Depressive Episode that children might display & signs that indicate a child might be a high suicide risk are presented. Common symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) are discussed. Suggestions for alleviating the depression & possibly saving a life are presented.
