The Task Force believes that a comprehensive suicide prevention strategy for Victoria is required. This strategy involves a broad range of activities that can be grouped together into a framework of 4 interrelated & connected levels that reflect the multidimensional nature of suicide. The levels are primary prevention, early intervention, intervention, & postvention. The goal is to reduce the rate of suicide & minimize its incidence & impact through a holistic approach.
