Abstract
Survivor Siblings, the Case of Schizophrenia: a Response to “Impact of Adolescent Suicide on Sibling and Parents” by Brent, Moritz, Bridge, Perper, and Canobbio
Titelman D
In this letter to the editor, Dr. Titelman comments on a study by Brent et al on sibling suicide survivors see SIEC #970667. He discusses his studies on another type of survivor, siblings of schizophrenic individuals. He postulates that there are similarities between these 2 groups of survivors, e.g. identification with the ill or deceased sibling; siblings coming to terms with the loss better than the parents did. Dr. Brent’s response to Titelman’s letter is attached.
