This article discusses the American Nursing AssociationÕs 1994 position statement on active euthanasia. The article criticizes the nursing statement as being too ambiguous in its language & too confusing overall. The article includes sections on the language used in the position statement in regard to a nurseÕs right intention or deliberateness in relieving symptoms, the degree of active involvement in an act of euthanasia, & direct agency.
