The case of a 14-year-old boy who committed sucide with an air rifle is presented. Information is provided on the clinical presentation & course, as well as radiography & autopsy findings. The case represents an uncommon mechanism of suicide with an instrument commonly possessed by adolescents & demonstrates the potential lethality of air rifles. This case also highlights the need for preventive measures, including public education & legislation. (18 refs.)
