This study examined the characteristics & reliability of self-reported psychiatric hospitalization decision making among staff at a community Mental Health Centre. Staff who were surveyed showed modest reliability in their ratings of hospitalization indications. Most staff agreed that high suicide risk & risk of harming others necessitate hospitalization. Due to the variation in recommendations, there is a need to improve the reliability of the hospitalization decision.
