In this article the author comments on a previous article on the topic of no suicide contracts. He states that discussion of such contracts outside the broader context of treatment planning, informed consent & the standard of care, tends to artificially inflate their importance. The author concludes that contracting is only one component of a comprehensive treatment plan, with a specific & limited purpose, that being, crisis reponse.
