Late Adulthood Suicide: a Life-Span Analysis of Suicide Notes

This article discusses the literature of elderly suicide. It outlines 2 studies that were designed to investigate the suicide notes of the elderly in an adult lifespan perspective. The main conclusion is in support of a multivariate approach. More similarities than differences in suicide behavior accross the adult lifespan were found. However, the noted differences in the elderly appear to be related to the inability to cope with the vicissitudes of aging such as illness & isolation.
