This study examined attitudes of older persons toward suicide & examined the relationship of gender & ethnicity to attitudes about suicide. There were no differences in empathy toward suicidal people or in agreement with suicdal peoples’ actions based on ethnicity (African American or White) or gender. It is concluded that there were no significant interactional effect of ethnicity or gender on attitudes toward suicide.
