Leff J~~Dayson D
Four hundred & ninety-four long-stay patients, (at least one year), who were discharged from two psychiatric hospitals in London, were closely matched with 279 patients staying in the hospital for another year. During the year, the death rate did not differ between the 2 groups. One suicide occurred in each group, & six of the discharged patients could not be traced 1 year later.
