A random sample of 229 suicides represending the total 1-year suicide population in Finland were studied. Fifty-six suicide victims with personality disorder (PD) and 56 matched-pair control suicides were compared. The factors studied were age, occupation, education, employed, marital status, parental variables, and social interaction. Younger PD subjects living alone, who threaten suicide should be taken seriously.
