Unemployment and Mortality: Comparison of the 1971 and 1981 Longitudinal Study Census Samples
Moser K A~~Goldblatt P O~~et al
The researchers try to disentangle the associations between unemployment and a variety of measures of ill health. The authors analyzed mortality in the period of 1973-83, of a group of men and women who were followed up prospectively from the 1981 census. Suicide is included with accidents, poisonings, and violence, in one category. The number of observed deaths in 1973 was 125, and increased to 142 in 1983.
