This article discusses the need for close collaboration between neurologist and psychiatrist. Schiffer evaluated 241 patients in an American neurology service and found that of 57 inpatients, 10 were considered to have a primary psychiatric disorder, and 5 of these had no neurological disorder. Among 184 outpatients, 32 had a primary psychiatric disorder and 30 of these had no neurological disorder.
