In 1990, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, reported more than 8% of high school students had made a suicide attempt, and 2% had made an attempt that required medical attention. Attendance to at least one treatment program was 95.4% for a special group receiving videos upon release from hospital, versus 82.7% for the patients treated normally. The specialized group were also more likely to attend further sessions than the standard treatment group.
