The authors examine associations between a series of sociodemographic factors, childhood experiences, & mental disorders, to explore the joint relationship between these factors & vulnerability to serious suicide attempts. Risks of serious suicide attempt increased with extent of exposure to childhood adversity, social disadvantage, & psychiatric morbidity, each of these factors make independent contributions to risk of suicide attempts.
