This study is part of the National Suicide Prevention Project in Finland. All suicide victims (1,397) over a 12-month period were investigated concerning factors associated with any variation in suicide frequency between weekdays & weekends. Results showed that employed, alcohol misusers, were found to complete suicide more often during the weekend than the non-employed, 52% & 34.3% respectively.
