This report discusses how American lay and medical press abound with inaccurate (5000-8000 cases) accounts of voluntary euthanasia in The Netherlands (200-300+ cases). The author concludes that euthanasia enthusiasts do not exist in The Netherlands any more than in other countries. He states that if the situation in The Netherlands is unique at all, it is perhaps in the wish of physicians to subject their actions to public scrutiny.
