This proceeding describes a presentation by Dr. Shulman in which personal & professional experience, as well as documented research, was utilized to show that post-traumatic stress disorder leads to suicidal thoughts, feelings & behaviors. Possible interpretations for this relationship are included. The proceeding includes a description of post-traumatic stress disorder & personal accounts of a suicide attempt precipitated by previous childhood trauma. (SC)
