Pathological gamblers are a high-risk group for suicide. In this presentation, Campbell stated that it is important for cris centers in states where gambling is now prevalent, or will be in the future, to be as informed as possible about the psychological risks that accompany compulsive gambling. Opportunities where crisis centres can facilitate prevention, intervention & postvention services in the area of problem gambling are outlined. Staff training & funding issues were also discussed.
