This paper discusses the increased international suicide rate of young persons aged 15-34 since 1960. Examines whether economic adversity within a country was related to this increased risk of suicide of young people of that country. Concludes that macro-economic factors seem to play a definite role in rates, but states that this is just one of many factors involved in suicide.
