This proceeding discusses suicide in Turkey based on the statistical yearbook of State Institute of Statistics. Results indicate that people over the age of 75 years had the greatest percentage for suicide & the greatest percentage as a result of disease. The most common method in this age group was hanging. The age group of 65-74 years had the second greatest percentage. These findings are compared to other time periods in Yugoslavia & indicate that the changing culture may have an influence on elderly suicide rates. (SC)
