This article discusses the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), a 21-item inventory that measures depression in adults & adolescents. However, its effectiveness in predicting suicide among college students is not clear. In this study, 208 college students completed the BDI, as well as a questionnaire, that indicated their level of suicide risk. A significant association was found between suicide risk & BDI scores, indicating the BDI is effective in predicting suicidal risk among college students.
