This presentation describes the nature of problems reported to the Boys Town National Hotline, and information on levels of “lethality risk” for each type of problem, a breakdown of risk rating by callers’ age & geographic area, age & sex differences, & how callers learned about the hotline. An analysis of the 247,624 calls received in a 9-month period (1991-92) indicates that concern about relationships were the primary reason for contacting the Hotline. Other findings are noted.
