This presentation reports on a project in an Adolescent Depression & Suicide Program. Subjects included 197 adolescents in 6 experimental groups. Intent was to prevent recidivism & evaluate the effects of treatment. On a 6-month follow-up, those who received treatment in the clinic reported lower levels of depression & suicidal ideation than those who did not keep appointments. Telephone follow-up procedures appear to be an effective approach to targetting at-risk adolescents.
