This presentation notes that too few studies have been done to permit firm conclusions on the sibling grief expreience. It reviews available information & draws on experiences of the Chicago Adolescent Study (psychological autopsy study). It discusses common, pathological, grief, & post-traumatic stress reactions, sibling/parent relationships, & peer relationships. It advocates a pulsed intervention model that anticipates & changes with the developmental challenges facing the bereaved youth.
