Sturgeon Community Health Centre – Mental Health Services Crisis Intervention Program

Mental health services for clients during non-traditional business hours within the city of St. Albert were non-existent. A crisis intervention service project through the Emergency Department of the Sturgeon Community Health Centre (SCHC) was undertaken in 1993 with 3 proposed elements: crisis intervention, outpatient/walk-in clinic, groups. Program goals, guiding principles, criteria for establishment & program evaluation findings and recommendations are presented.
