London’s Tragic Events Response Team

The mandate of this Tragic Events Response Team (TERT) is to respond to the death of a staff person or student by: offering immediate assistance in dealing with the practical aspects of the situation & providing on-site support to staff and students to assist in the grieving process. Practical suggestions for establishing a response team given are: policy development guidelines, principal’s checklist of optional activities, ideas for teachers to help the bereaved student & evaluation procedures.
