24 depressed adolescent inpatients (history of sexual abuse) were compared with a matched control group on measures of depression, suicidal ideation & behaviour, & posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. While some differences between the two groups were found in the prevalence of comorbid PTSD, there were no differences in depression severity, specific depressive symptoms, or suicidal behaviour. This article calls for appropriate interventions for sexually abused adolescents. (42 Refs.)
