This article reports on a survey developed by adolescents for adolescents. Respondents: 486 secondary school students in Toronto. Findings: most teenagers are not overwhelmed by stress & generally exhibit healthy coping behaviours; violence is a concern; & help-seeking is directed primarily towards family & teachers. A number of important mental-illness issues were not considered by teens to be part of their menatal health concerns. Implications for development of health programs are discussed.
