This draft is a strategy for the prevention of suicide in Australia. A primary health care model has been used to define the problem, identify needs & coordinate available resources. Aims, goals & objectives are presented for four areas of action: prevention, early intervention, treatment & postvention. Appendices provide terms of reference, membership of the task force, a glossary of terms, links to other organizations, an overview of the prevention strategy, & facts about suicide in Australia.
