The “Deana Don’t do it” Show

This article dicusses the development of “Deana Don’t do it”, a suicide prevention program for Aboriginal youth (see SIEC #950202). An audiotape & discussion guide were created with the help of volunteer youth performers from First Nations communities. Objectives of the project include increased awareness & understanding of teenage suicide, & helping listeners recognize & effectively provide initial help for suicidal adolescents.
