Working With Communities (IN: Focus Group on Suicide Prevention: Presentations, by Department of Health, Medical Services Branch)

This chapter describes the Nodin Model of suicide crisis intervention. The development of a crisis team is outlined with respect to who should be on the crisis team & crisis team tasks. Other issues that are addressed include: the impact of suicide on families & the community, confidentiality, debriefing crisis team members, & the role of mental health counsellors as members of the crisis response team.
