English-language epidemiological studies on suicide & occupation published since 1982 are reviewed. Occupations included are: actors, automobile mechanics, chemical workers, chemists, dentists, electric utility workers, farmers, forestry workers, highway maintenance workers, military personnel, nurses, pharmaceutical industry workers, physicians, police officers, social workers, tobacco industry workers & veterinarians. There is some discussion of suicide among female workers & in the workplace.
