Surveys were mailed to all 350 programs in the American Association of Suicidology directory of suicide survivor groups. 144 surveys were returned. Questions were asked about the structure of the groups, what topics were discussed, demographics & the services offered. Some of the results of the survey indicate that most groups are sponsored by some type of social agency, that there are typically fewer than 10 attendees at meetings, & that the groups meet predominantly to share experiences.
