Journal Review-Suicide and Aging: International Perspectives. A Special Issue of International Psychogeriatrics, edited by J L Pearson & Y Conwell

The goal of this article was to suggest directions for studying elderly suicide across cultures from many perspectives. Epidemiological data reveal that there are many trends across countries such as: a higher prevalence of elderly suicide compared to the young & a higher prevalence among elderly men compared to women. There are differences in the shape & gradient of suicide age curves according to country, ethnicity, & ecological variables.
