Crisis theory & equilibrium are critiqued from the perspective of chaos theory.Implications of chaos theory to the concept of equilibrium are outlined; new states of equilibrium after crisis differ from equilibrium states before crisis. Ramsay concludes that new intervention methods are needed to cope with people in crisis considering this paradigm shift. A qualitative dimension is needed due to the unpredictability of the crisis reaction.
