Stephany, a hospice nurse, favors the concept of assisted suicide. She claims that current hospice policy against assisted suicide fails some patients when they are most in need. While most patients wish to live, despite painful, wasting illnesses, there are those who would prefer death to the life they now have. The author would like to see legislation change to afford both patients & health care professionals the choice to participate in assisted suicide.
