This book provides a practical & thought-provoking examination of why the elderly commit suicide & how they can be helped. It is written with warmth, humour, respect, & wisdom, & contains many examples from Richman’s clinical work. The influence of societal ageism is noted throughout. The role that chronic & progressive illnesses play in elderly suicide is somewhat slighted in the book.
