McIntosh says that “this book provides unique contributions to the knowledge base & understanding of youth & adolescent suicide as well as violent death generally”. The book has a strong section on epidemiology, & a good integration of statistics & theoretical perspectives. An attempt to combine epidemiological & clinical perspectives is less complete; some other titles are suggested for supplemental reading. McIntosh says that “this book should be on the shelf of anyone…involved with youth.
